These plastic coins are the prototypes for what would become the 7-11 Slurpee coin issues. These are full-color, one-dimensional, smooth plastic coins. They are the same size as Slurpee coins. Evidently, they were prepared to showcase the concept to potential national sponsors. Each coin pictures Rod Carew on the front. The backs have each company's logo and are similar to the 1983 Slurpee coin issue with number "FIVE OF TWELVE" at the bottom. These are extremely rare. |
